My late mother in law, an excellent cook, from Paducah, Texas, made this for us in the early 1980s. We have had it for Thanksgiving ever since. It's easy to make and keeps for quite a while well covered in the 'fridge.

I have been making this cranberry salad for over 30 yrs. Like so many others said, it's a family favorite and a family tradition! I make this salad all year round, not just for holidays. I add my heavy whipping cream right before serving instead of letting it sit overnight; keeps the cream nice a fluffy!

This recipe is scrumptious! I wanted to incorporate cranberries into Thanksgiving this year, since we never do, and was totally impressed! The husband and kids loved it, too. It is sweet enough to be considered a dessert though. I am definitely keeping this recipe to use in the future!

I don't like cranberry sauce so I never served cranberries at Thanksgiving until I tried this recipe. It is AWESOME. My kids and family loved it. Not tarty at all.

This is so delicious. My family prefers the marshmallows ground with the cranberries in the food processor. It gives it a better texture. Also, real whipping cream is a must! Cranberries freeze well if you would like to enjoy this recipe year round. It's not Thanksgiving without this delicious salad.

I first had this salad in 1963. My MIL traditionally served it at holiday gatherings. It is a MUST have at our family gatherings over 40 yrs. later. Cool Whip does not give the quality or texture of using real whipping cream. Cool Whip can also cause the berries to curdle.
