EASIEST & BEST HOMEMADE ALFREDO
SAUCE

This by far is the easiest and best Alfredo sauce recipe I have found yet! I love pasta and Alfredo and searched forever to make it homemade. I think that too many recipes have too many ingredients and that others are too watery. My girlfriend loves it and makes me cook it at least once a week.. plus you can add it to so many different things! This is a great, simple recipe to make for someone coming over for a dinner date ;)

1/2 cup (1 stick) butter
1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese
1 cup half and half
1/3 cup Parmesan cheese
1 tablespoon garlic powder (optional)
pepper, to taste

1. In a medium saucepan, melt butter.

2. Once butter is almost melted, add the package of cream cheese. It's easiest to cut it into 4 pieces so that it melts quicker.

3. Once butter and cream cheese are mixed well together, add the cup of half and half, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, and then shake pepper on top. Stir all together until well mixed.

4. Once it's mixed well and sauce-like, take it off the burner and set aside so it can thicken up. Stir every few moments.

5. DONE! Pour over your favorite pasta, I love it with tortellini!

Don't forget some bread-sticks to dip in the extra sauce! :)

Easiest & Best Homemade Alfredo Sauce

 Caitlin (Massachusetts) says:
This was great! I wanted to go to the Olive Garden all day but had no one to go with and their food is so expensive, so I decided to look up recipes to make my own chicken fettucini alfredo, and this sauce was delicious! I used whole milk for a thicker sauce, it was great. Slight buttery taste but I think that's just me, hah

This recipe was sooooo delicious! I did make some slight changes. I used fat free cream cheese, light butter, and 2 percent milk just to reduce the amount of calories. This was a great recipe and my family enjoyed it.

I tried this recipe out earlier this week. My husband and I absolutely love it! Alfredo sauce is so expensive at the store and it doesn't go far. This recipe is very inexpensive and easy to make. I used it with angel hair pasta, chicken, and broccoli.

I'm not saying this is a bad sauce but come on ,seriously nobody out there knows how to make real alfredo because this isn't it. its butter, cream and parmigian cheese.. and fresh garlic. Not the hardest thing to make!

This recipe is wonderful. I made it 2 times the first week. I poured it over Chicken, Broccoli and Mushrooms. I have also passed this recipe on to several friends. The only change I did make was add a little more Half and Half as it did seem a bit too thick for my liking, but that didn't change the taste of it at all.

This was WONDERFUL and VERY easy! I added shrimp and scallops I had sauteed in butter and garlic. My family and I all taste tested it before I added the seafood and it was so good as plain alfredo sauce. Then I added the shrimp, scallops and the butter/garlic it was cooked in. It was incredible... really unhealthy but what a treat! I was so excited to find a recipe just as good as Olive Garden. For what it costs my husband and I to eat their Seafood Alfredo, we could feed us and our three daughters!

This was very good! I used low fat cream cheese and fresh Parmesan. Served with angel hair pasta and shrimp. I will definitely be making this again!
