EASIEST & BEST HOMEMADE ALFREDO
SAUCE

This by far is the easiest and best Alfredo sauce recipe I have found yet! I love pasta and Alfredo and searched forever to make it homemade. I think that too many recipes have too many ingredients and that others are too watery. My girlfriend loves it and makes me cook it at least once a week.. plus you can add it to so many different things! This is a great, simple recipe to make for someone coming over for a dinner date ;)

1/2 cup (1 stick) butter
1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese
1 cup half and half
1/3 cup Parmesan cheese
1 tablespoon garlic powder (optional)
pepper, to taste

1. In a medium saucepan, melt butter.

2. Once butter is almost melted, add the package of cream cheese. It's easiest to cut it into 4 pieces so that it melts quicker.

3. Once butter and cream cheese are mixed well together, add the cup of half and half, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, and then shake pepper on top. Stir all together until well mixed.

4. Once it's mixed well and sauce-like, take it off the burner and set aside so it can thicken up. Stir every few moments.

5. DONE! Pour over your favorite pasta, I love it with tortellini!

Don't forget some bread-sticks to dip in the extra sauce! :)

This alredo sauce was really great. Used it with the penne pasta and shrimp. Really good. Will definitely make it again this week. Easy recipe for the beginner cookers like me.

I used this recipe for sauce to make a chicken garlic pizza tonight and it was excellent! It was very easy to make. I used whole milk instead of half & half and 2 cloves of pressed garlic instead of powder. I have VERY picky eaters and they absolutely loved it!

The easiest and best recipe I have ever come across for Alfredo sauce comes from the man who invented it, who created it for his wife and then was using it at his restaurant in New York. If you want the original fettuccine alfredo, check out "Alfredo's of Rome". It's just equal parts butter and Parmigiano Reggiano cheese.

With that said, this is an excellent sauce. As with all sauces, there's a lot of variation possible and the versatility is the best feature.

Thank you- tasty and plain enough that my picky child will eat it. Also very fattening, which the SKINNY picky child desperately needs. Thumbs up!

What a great sauce! I used 1/2 cup of fresh Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese, 1 TEASPOON of garlic powder, and added a bit more half & half to thin the sauce. My family of picky eaters absolutely loved it! This will now be a family staple.

This sauce works great for the Red Lobster recipe for Parmesan crusted fish. Look on their site for the recipe. I've used catfish, tilapia and snapper. Excellent.

Leeta said she used sour cream...did I miss something? That isn't part of the recipe, is it? AND this is the best ever. Thank you.

We have been having a problem with Julia's sauce that begins with "... First you make a rue . . ." So tonite we tried this one... We liked it. The cream cheese taste is very prominent, which can be distracting. We added thyme, rosemary, parsley, all in dried form as well as garlic salt and minced garlic, lightly though... We used rotini and sauteed chicken and broccoli. We are pleased but will modify it more in the future... Oh, we were very impressed with the consistency and texture. We liked it! Thanks!

This is amazing. I added a bit of salt and it is just out of this world. Quick too. I'm using it with a curried chicken and fettuccine. It is just amazing.
