Bisquick Quiche

 Greg Fowlkes says:
Make sure you use A&D whole milk with any bisquick recipe like this or it doesn't set up and bake right! Using 2% only left me with a soupy mess.

 Kitty Barthlamew (Canada) replies:
Way of solving the soupy effect is using 3/4 cup condensed milk and 1-1/4 cups 2% milk. Optional... Add 1 tablespoon sugar and it a guaranteed way for kids to eat their vegetables. Sweet tasting.

 Jodi (Nebraska) replies:
I'm surprised to hear about the soupy mess? I've made this recipe dozens of times and it always turns out perfect. I do double the recipe and make it in a 9x13 pan instead fo a pie plate. Also, sometimes it needs a little more baking time depending on your oven and elevation - try adding 10 minutes or so and see what happens.

I use almond milk when making this quiche and cook a bit longer... always turns out well.

 Kim (Maryland) replies:
Thanks for sharing. I only use Almond Milk unless of course whole milk is required. I will try the Almond Milk and keep in mind the baking time may be longer.

I add about a quarter cup extra bisquick to solve that problem. It had only happened to me once before but I was only using cheese.

I use 1% or 2% milk and never have a problem ... :-)

I have made this many, many times and always use 2% milk and it has always turned out.

I prepared this recipe using 1.5 cups of skim milk and that worked out great. My husband, however, thought this quiche was too bland (I used ham and broccoli in the filling).

 Shirley Stefanelli (Pennsylvania) replies:
Someone said this was bland, not true, delicious! Just add more onion and add cubed ham along with the bacon and I used extra sharp cheddar. Don't over bake this. Quite good.

I first started making the Bisquick Quiche from the recipe on the Bisquick box. I have always used 2% milk; I add 2 Tablespoons of extra Bisquick and love it with diced green chiles, crumbled cooked bacon and breakfast sausage with sharp cheddar cheese. My family and friends are always delighted when I make and serve this!

Made this for Super Bowl yesterday. It was a hit.

Instead of broccoli, I used frozen spinach and 1 can of drained chopped tomatoes. I added extra teaspoon of salt, and pepper. For cheese, I used mozzarella and voila, it came out perfect. This is actually my favorite recipe. Proportions are also perfect.

I love this recipe. This morning I used leftovers salmon, meatloaf, then added diced green chiles, mushrooms, green onions, feta cheese, and the regular shredded cheeses. Super yummy!

Johnny's season salt instead of reg. salt, a pinch of sugar and nutmeg. Been making this for 20 years:)

I made it for a teacher breakfast. I put cubed potatoes, ham and red peppers. So easy to make, they loved it. I did add 1/4 cup extra of Bisquick.

 Emilee Klein (Connecticut) says:
I've made this using just sauteed summer vegetables with basil. Instead of whole eggs I used egg whites and 1% milk with 2 tbsp. added Heart Smart Bisquick... also used low fat cheddar cheese. Healthy variation and was delicious.

 Eileen W (British Columbia) says:
My family just loves this recipe. It's a great way to use up leftovers. I use leftover potatoes (chopped up), green beans, corn, carrots, whatever meat I have on hand (if any), add onions and it works out wonderfully. It stretches the budget a bit and I don't have to throw out those leftovers. It always gets eaten!

I used almond milk, 1 1/4 cup of bisquick with spinach. It was delicious!! A keeper for sure.

I like to use half and half instead of milk. For fillings I used the prepared spinach artichoke dip and diced ham or bacon bits whatever I have available. I use swiss cheese but any cheese you enjoy works. Haven't had a failure yet.

 Patty Stone (Texas) says:
I stopped eating this just to review it. It turned out beautifully. I made mine with Extra Sharp Cheddar, Onions, Bell Peppers, Smoked Ham and tossed in some Pico De Gallo I had leftover from takeout. Delicious and comforting on a cold day when I am too tired to make anything else.

The milk to Bisquick ratio was fine for me, and I even had the added moisture of from the veggies as I sautéed them first.

Thank you for sharing.

I decreased the milk to 1 and a half cups. Added feta cheese along with the cheddar, garlic powder, onion powder. Used zucchini, green peppers, carrots and onion, shredded. Amazing flavor and great density!
