“POLISH SWEET AND SOUR CABBAGE” IS IN:

POLISH SWEET AND SOUR CABBAGE 
1 head of cabbage-5 cups water
1-2 lbs. pork, can be smoked chops, country ribs, etc.
1 can diced tomatoes
1 small can tomato paste
1/2 stick butter
1/2 lb. bacon
1/2 cup sugar
1/4 cup Apple cider vinegar
1 small green pepper, diced
1 small onion diced
1 cup chicken broth
cornstarch or flour (for thickening)

Fry bacon until crisp, set aside to cool. Brown meat in stock pot with butter. Add chopped cabbage to pot with water, broth, diced tomatoes, green pepper, onion and tomato paste. Break up the bacon and add to pot. Add sugar and vinegar. Bring to a boil then simmer for approximately 2 hours. Add flour or cornstarch to bowl and whisk with enough water to dilute and add to pot, bring to a boil until thickened.

Serve on homemade mashed potatoes and enjoy!
