FLORIDA ORANGE BREAD 
3/4 cup orange rind, slivered
1 1/2 cups sugar
1/3 cup water
3 tbsp. butter
1 1/2 cups orange juice
3 eggs, well beaten
4 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. baking powder
2 tsp. salt

Preheat oven to 325°F.

Remove orange rind from oranges and cut into slivers. Combine sugar and water with rind in pan. Stir until sugar dissolves. Cook for 5 minutes. Mixture should measure 1 1/2 cups. Add butter and stir until melted. Add orange juice and eggs.

Mix dry ingredients with orange juice mixture in a large bowl. Batter will be lumpy.

Bake in greased loaf pan at 325°F for 1 hour and 15 minutes or in 4 small pans for 45 minutes.
