TOMATO ALFREDO BAKED ZITI
1 lb box Ziti Noodles
1 jar Alfredo sauce
1 jar marinara sauce
1 lb Italian sausage, ground
1 green pepper, diced
1 medium onion, diced
2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

Preheat oven to 350°F. Boil pasta al denté according to package. Meanwhile, in a large skillet, sauté pepper, onion and Italian sausage. When sausage is cooked through, add jar of marinara sauce and jar of Alfredo sauce.

Heat until warm, reduce heat to low. Drain pasta and combine with sauce mixture. Spread into large enough casserole dish. Sprinkle with mozzarella cheese.

Bake for 15 minutes, until mozzarella just starts to brown. Allow to cool 5 minutes before serving.

This is an easy and most delicious baked Ziti I've ever tasted! I love that it's made with both marinara and alfredo sauces mixture. That combo along with the mozzarella cheese tastes fabulous! I substituted ground chicken for sausage, though, and added 1 t. dried basil, 1 t. Italian seasoning, and 1/2 cup of parmesan cheese. I baked it about 30 min. total, 25 covered in foil and about 5 uncovered to melt the cheese. My 2 year old grandson tried his first bite and said, "Yum. Good pasta!" Everyone else later commentated on the great tasting Ziti. I didn't care for the heavier Ricotta cheese in most all Ziti recipes and love the smooth alfredo sauce mixture here. The sauces spread consistently around the Ziti pasta, creamy and so tasty! This is my new baked ziti recipe and I plan to take a dish to a home-bound friend soon. Thanks, Jennifer!
