GRAM'S CRISP MOLASSES COOKIES | |
1 cup molasses 1 cup sugar 1 cup melted shortening 4 tsp. baking soda, dissolved in 2/3 cup boiling water 2 tsp. cream tartar 1 tsp. salt 1 tsp. ginger all-purpose flour (between 6 to 7 cups) Mix molasses and sugar; add to shortening, then add baking soda and boiling water mixture. Add flour, salt, ginger and cream of tartar. Knead, wrap in Saran or plastic wrap and let chill in refrigerator. Roll to desired thickness, cut and bake at 350°F. Submitted by: Grace H. |
