GERMAN CHOCOLATE CAKE MIX
COOKIES
 
1 pkg. Pillsbury Plus German chocolate cake mix
6 to 9 oz. chocolate chips (or M & M's)
1/2 c. rolled oats
1/2 c. butter, melted
2 eggs, slightly beaten

Heat oven to 350 degrees. In a large bowl, combine all ingredients; mix well. Drop by rounded teaspoonful 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheets. Bake at 350 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes. Cool 1 minute. Remove from cookie sheets. Makes 6 dozen cookies.

I was very impressed with this recipe! I used milk chocolate cake mix and broken Hershey bars as a slight variation (as I had them on hand). These are definitely my favorite cake mix cookies so far (I've tried 4 others).

I made these yrs ago without adding oats, not sure if I use oatmeal. Didn't use chocolate chips either but they were good. Will try these later to send grandson in Florida.

The cookies dough recipe as recommended looked too dry and was too stiff so I added some hot water with melted chocolate and a little bit of buttermilk. I refrigerated the dough before I put them on the cookie sheet so they would keep their shape when cooking.

I left out the oats and put german chocolate frosting on top and drizzled melted chocolate over them to make them look fancy. They are really good that way!
