BARBECUED SHORT RIBS 
3 lbs. beef short ribs, cut into serving pieces
2 tbsp. fat
1 onion, chopped
1/4 c. vinegar
2 tbsp. brown sugar
1 c. catsup
1/2 c. water
3 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
1 tbsp. prepared mustard
1/2 c. sliced celery
2 tsp. salt

Melt fat in heavy skillet. Brown the short ribs with onions in hot fat. Add all remaining ingredients. Cover and cook slowly 1 1/2-2 hours or until tender, or bake in a moderate oven at 350 degrees.
