Oh my gosh ! This was so good. I loved the spice rub and the whole house smelled good for hours and hours. So easy and delish. I would make this again and again. It was like a holiday meal. A "10" for sure.

I made this on New Year's Day and and not only did it make the house smell amazing, it was so moist and tender. In the future, I will use only 1 tsp of crushed red pepper flakes as it was a bit too much for me personally. I also reduced the sauce and added about 2 tbsp of flour to thicken it. Then i added about 2-3 cups of chicken stock and let it simmer until it reduced. If you do this (and buy chicken stock), make sure you get the reduced sodium as it was a tad salty. I served this with herbed cream biscuits and glazed carrots. Definitely an excellent sunday meal.

This is amazing! I didn't have all the spices, but used what I had - very flavorful; smells wonderful! The recipe is fantastic! Can't wait to try with the 2 spices I was missing, added in next time! Thank you!!

I'm making this right now and I was confused about one comment. Is there supposed to be a sauce? The other half of my pork shoulder is in the slow cooker and I know it's supposed to have a sauce but I don't know where a sauce would come from this recipe. Sorry if I'm ignorant here

Sauce comes from pan drippings.

I was able to use some fresh herbs from my vertical garden. The smell while cooking was great. I used my pressure cooker. Tender, juicy, and fantastic.

This is a recipe that I've had printed and hanging on the side of my refrigerator for probably a couple of decades now. I lost it when we bought a new refrigerator. I'm very happy to find this here. Thank you! It is the best rub you will ever put on a Boston butt
