BEEF AND RICE AMANDINE 
1 lb. ground beef
1 can condensed cream of chicken soup
1 env. instant beef broth OR: 1 beef flavor bouillon cube
1 c. water
1 c. sliced celery
1 sm. onion, peeled and sliced
1/2 c. uncooked rice
1 tsp. soy sauce
1/8 tsp. oregano
1/2 c. toasted slivered almonds

1. Shape ground beef into a large patty in a large frying pan; brown 5 minutes on each side, then break up into chunks.

2. Stir in chicken soup, instant beef broth or bouillon cube, water, celery, onion, rice, soy sauce, and oregano. Heat to boiling, crushing bouillon cube, if using, with a spoon; pour into a greased 8 cup baking dish; cover.

3. Bake in moderate oven (350 degrees) 30 minutes; uncover; sprinkle almonds on top. Bake 15 minutes longer, or until golden brown.
