DILL PICKLES | |
Place washed cucumbers in canning jars. Cover with boiling water, let cool down, then drain water off. In each quart jar place: 1 garlic bud 1 tsp. mixed pickling spice 1 head dill 1 whole red pepper (spice) Brine solution: Combine and bring to a boil - 3 qt. water 1 c. pickling salt 1 qt. vinegar (cider) 1/2 tsp. alum Pour boiling solution over cucumbers. Seal immediately with sterilized canning lids. Let set for six (6) weeks before using. |
