SWEET SOURS FROM DILL PICKLES 
3 qt. dill pickles, drain
4 c. sugar
3 c. water
3 c. vinegar
3 tbsp. mixed pickling spice
Raw onion slices

Mix together: sugar, water, vinegar and pickling spices (in a cheesecloth bag). Boil for five minutes. Cool. Take out spices. Add raw onion slices and pour over drained pickles. Let set for two or three days.
