SWEET PICKLES FROM KOSHER DILLS 
1 1/2 qt. kosher dills, whole
3 c. sugar
1/2 c. white vinegar
1 clove garlic
2 tbsp. whole cloves

TO MAKE 1 GALLON:

4 qt. kosher dills, whole
8 c. sugar
1 1/3 c. white vinegar
3 cloves garlic
5 1/3 tbsp. whole cloves

Drain, slice to desired thickness. Put back in same jar. Add spices, garlic and sugar and vinegar. Turn upside down to dissolve sugar. Shake often. Place in refrigerator when sugar has dissolved. (If you don't want the spices floating around, just put them in a piece of cheese cloth until ready to serve and then remove it.)
