8 lbs. pickling cucumbers 3-4 cloves fresh garlic Fresh dill weed 1 c. pickling salt 6 c. white vinegar 6 c. water Bay leaves These are close to "Deli Dills" garlic flavored. Scrub cucumbers, cover with ice water and soak overnight or at least 10 hours. Drain. You may use cucumbers whole, sliced lengthwise, chopped as for sweet mixed, halved, etc. Your choice. Have sterilized jars ready. Into each one drop 1 whole garlic clove (peeled), 1 sprig dill, 1 bay leaf. For quart jars - Fill bottom half with cucumbers, repeat garlic, dill and bay leaf. Add cucumbers to top of jar. Top with garlic, dill and bay leaf. For pint jars - Put garlic, dill and bay leaf on bottom. Add cucumbers. Top with garlic, dill and bay leaf. |
