VEGETABLE SOUP 
1 lb. beef cubes
Soup bone with marrow in it (shin bone)
1 tsp. pot herbs
2 stalks celery, cut up (also some tops)
1/2 head or more cabbage, cut up (not too sm.)
1 qt. tomatoes (if whole - cut up)
1 lg. bag mixed vegetables
1 can tomato soup
1 onion (whole or cut up)
Salt
Pepper
4 potatoes, cut into cubes
Egg noodles (med. or sm.)
Sm. can tomato juice (for flavor)

In a 10 quart pot fill with water 1/2 way and add beef cubes, soup bone, pot herbs, celery, cabbage, tomatoes, tomato soup, onion, salt and pepper. Cook for 1 1/2 hours. Add mixed vegetables and potatoes. Cook for another hour.

When it is time to eat, cook egg noodles separately. If cooked in soup, the noodles will take too much of the soup juice.
