CHOCOLATE CHIP OATMEAL COOKIES 
1/2 c. shortening
1 stick butter
1 c. brown sugar
2 tbsp. water
1 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1 c. granulated sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
3 c. oatmeal
1 (12 oz.) pkg. chocolate chips
2 c. coconut
1 (2 oz.) pkg. nuts

Cream together shortening, butter, and sugars. Add water, eggs, and vanilla. Stir well. Add flour, salt, and soda. Mix well. Add remaining ingredients and stir until mixed well. Drop by teaspoon on ungreased pan.

Bake at 375°F for 10 minutes or until golden brown.
