NUTMEG SAUCED APPLES | |
6 med. tart baking apples, peeled, cored & halved 1/3 c. water 4 tsp. sugar 4 tsp. all-purpose flour 1/2 tsp. ground nutmeg 1 1/2 c. light cream Place apples in a 13 x 9 x 2 inch baking dish; add water. Bake, covered, at 350 degrees for 30-40 minutes or until tender. Remove from the oven and keep warm. In a saucepan, combine sugar, flour and nutmeg. Stir in cream. Cook and stir over medium heat until thickened and bubbly. Cook 2 minutes longer. Remove from the heat. Serve warm over apples. Yield 6 servings. |
