1 c. sugar
1 c. sour milk
1/2 c. butter
2 eggs
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. flour
6 tbsp. cocoa, mixed with 6 tbsp. hot water
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda dissolved in a little black coffee

Grease and flour oblong pan, 13 x 9 x 2 inches or 2 round layer pans, 8 or 9 x 1 1/2 inches.

Cream butter and sugar and vanilla. Sift flour and salt. Add eggs, beating well. Add sour milk, cocoa and soda to creamed mixture; then add the flour. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 to 35 minutes.
