EASIEST & BEST HOMEMADE ALFREDO
SAUCE

This by far is the easiest and best Alfredo sauce recipe I have found yet! I love pasta and Alfredo and searched forever to make it homemade. I think that too many recipes have too many ingredients and that others are too watery. My girlfriend loves it and makes me cook it at least once a week.. plus you can add it to so many different things! This is a great, simple recipe to make for someone coming over for a dinner date ;)

1/2 cup (1 stick) butter
1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese
1 cup half and half
1/3 cup Parmesan cheese
1 tablespoon garlic powder (optional)
pepper, to taste

1. In a medium saucepan, melt butter.

2. Once butter is almost melted, add the package of cream cheese. It's easiest to cut it into 4 pieces so that it melts quicker.

3. Once butter and cream cheese are mixed well together, add the cup of half and half, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, and then shake pepper on top. Stir all together until well mixed.

4. Once it's mixed well and sauce-like, take it off the burner and set aside so it can thicken up. Stir every few moments.

5. DONE! Pour over your favorite pasta, I love it with tortellini!

Don't forget some bread-sticks to dip in the extra sauce! :)

Excellent! My husband hates Alfredo sauce but the Parmesan in this gave a more tangy flavor that he enjoys. Good with chicken, shrimp, fish, tuna or by itself. Thanks for sharing!

This was simply delicious, instead of half and half I used 1/2 cup heavy whipping cream and 1/2 cup 2% milk. Easy and quick.

Thanks for sharing this recipe. I never comment on recipes, but this one DEMANDS it! I forgot to grab the stuff in a jar from the store and needed a stand-in in a pinch. That's when I found it. I didn't have half-n-half so I subbed 2% milk, plus I had already sauteed my chicken with 2 cloves crushed garlic, so I omitted the powder. I had early problems with blending, but kept on stirring and things were fine in the end. The chicken Alfredo penne turned out RESTAURANT good! No more stuff in a jar for us!

Husband hungry for Alfredo sauce/none in the house. I made your sauce, I used less garlic powder, 1 tbsp. seemed like a lot. I used 1% milk. My husband said it tasted OK but too thick. I agree, Next time I either put a little more milk or try using half & half to see if it makes it smoother. Thought the taste was good. Thanks for your recipe!

Mmmm.... So good. I'm trying it right now. Personally, I like a little zing to my Alfredo sauce and usually have to add a drop or two of lemon juice, but this recipe is just fine the way it is! Absolutely love it!
