Made a double batch in a big square glass bowl. It had four layers of the Oreo cookies and was a huge hit. Excellent recipe.

This is the basic recipe I've always used, but with regular vanilla instead of french. Also, you can try white chocolate, but there is very little taste difference. I tried chocolate once and it was the least preferred. Finally, I just mix the entire pack of oreos into the filling as opposed to using them as a crust and topping.

I have been making this for over 30 years. My family loves it. This year for Halloween I used pumpkin spice Oreos and pumpkin spice extract - it was great.
