OATMEAL CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES 
1 1/4 c. softened butter
3/4 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. sugar
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/8 tsp. nutmeg
3 c. Quaker Oats (quick or reg.)
1 (12 oz.) pkg. chocolate chips
1 c. walnuts (optional)

Mix together. Bake at 375 degrees on ungreased cookie sheet. 8-9 minutes for chewy cookies; 10-11 minutes for crisp cookies. 6 dozen.
