APPLE QUICK PIE BARS 
1/2 c. shortening
1/3 c. plus 2 tbsp. butter
2 c. flour
2 to 3 tbsp. milk
1 can (1 lb. 4 oz.) apple pie filling
1/2 c. oatmeal
1/4 c. brown sugar

Cut shortening and butter into flour-set aside 1 cup. To remainder add milk while stirring with a fork until dough is moist enough to hold together. Form into a square. Flatten slightly and smooth edges. Roll out to form 9x13 rectangle. Place in bottom of ungreased pan. Bake for 15 minutes. Spread apple pie filling. Combine oatmeal, brown sugar and 2 tablespoons butter with reserved crumbs-sprinkle over apple filling. Bake 20 to 25 minutes or until golden brown. If desired drizzle glaze while warm.

GLAZE:

1 tbsp. butter
2 tbsp. lemon juice
1/2 c. powdered sugar

I was in a hurry so used pizza dough, yes-pizza dough for the bottom layer. Then I spread a layer of applesauce beforet he layer of apple pie filling. After the filling I sprinkled the apples with sugar and Cinnamon. Then immediately after removing from the oven I poured the glaze on, and served this about an hour later with vanilla ice cream. My wheat harvesters LOVED it.
