2 cups sugar
1 cup evaporated milk
3 tablespoons cocoa
1 teaspoon butter
1 teaspoon vanilla

Add sugar, milk, and cocoa and cook over low heat, stirring from sides of boiler often. When mixture forms soft ball in water, remove from heat. Add butter, vanilla and cool. Beat with rotary beater until mixture begins to thicken. Pour on greased platter. Nuts may be added.
