Triple Chocolate Amaretto Cake

 Jess (Louisiana) says:
I just made this cake for my in laws wedding anniversary. It was super easy and a huge hit. But I did use a Chocolate icing and added 1 tablespoon Amaretto to it. I spread it on while the cake was still warm and it soaked into it... Perfect cake I loved it and will make again.

I make a glaze with confectionery sugar and amaretto. Spike holes and pour over while warm.

I've been making this cake for years with raves from co-workers every time. I also make and donate for charitable organization fundraisers when they offer a dessert silent auction. I make a chocolate ganache, which also has a teaspoon of amaretto and top with sliced almonds. This is a very impressive dessert!

I put the unsweetened cocoa powder against my better judgement and sure enough the cake had a burnt taste on the outside. Otherwise the cake came out delicious. I would not recommend the dusting of the pan with cocoa powder.
