BARBECUED SPARE RIBS 
1 1/2 to 3 lbs. spare ribs
1 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
Dash of cayenne
1 tsp. paprika
1/2 c. brown sugar
1 tsp. liquid smoke (optional)
3/4 c. tomato sauce
3/4 c. water
2 tbsp. vinegar
1 level tbsp. salt
1/2 tsp. pepper
Dried onion or 1 whole onion

Place seasoned ribs in ungreased pan with onions. Make sauce by mixing tomato sauce, water, vinegar, salt, pepper, Worcestershire sauce, cayenne, paprika, and brown sugar. Sprinkle ribs with liquid smoke before pouring sauce over them. Cover and bake 1 1/2 hours at 350 degrees. Remove cover and bake 20 minutes longer. Can be made a day or two ahead and reheated or can be frozen.
