SALTINE CRACKER CRUMB PIE | |
3 egg whites 1 c. sugar 10 saltines, crushed 1/2 tsp. baking powder 1 c. pecans, chopped 1 c. whipping cream Beat egg whites until stiff. Sift together sugar and baking powder together and fold into egg whites. Add chopped pecans and saltines. Put mixture into a 9 inch pie plate smoothing the top until it comes to the inner edge of the pie plate. Bake at 300 degrees for 1 hour. Pie will not be smooth in applesauce. When completely cool. Cover pie with whipped cream. Refrigerate for 8-9 hours. Before cutting, cut around edges with a sharp knife. |
