This recipe could use more specific directions regarding the amount of time each stage takes. In particular, after adding raw chicken to the frozen vegetable, broth, and soup mix, it would be helpful to know approximately how long to simmer the mixture.

Turned out amazingly tasty. I mixed the ingredients as stated above and cooked at med heat for about 15 min almost to boil then put in a square casserole dish. Had extra crescent roll so I put half on the bottom and half on top. Baked for 30-40 min. Could put all of the crescent on top sealing edges for better presentation

Great, easy recipe with ingredients I always have on hand. I used canned shredded chicken, which made this even faster. I simmered all the ingredients except the dough for about 15 minutes and then baked with the dough on top for 15 more. So easy, and everyone loved it!

First off I want to say, I am not a good cook, but I am learning. I watch Gordon Ramsay a lot. Believe it or not the show f-word on BBC America has helped me. Thank you to Miss Barbara (Maryland) your comments were very helpful. I put in peas, carrots, and then sauteed onions & celery, and added that. for the can of soup I used Campbells Chicken Herb. I used a glass baking dish (9x9). I sprayed the dish with pam first. then I unrolled the crescent roll, and put the sheet of it in the bottom & sides. I had to smush it even on the sides, but it worked. then I used another roll for the top. baked for 30 min.

My other half loves chicken pot pie. This recipe sounds so easy but I would like to change the presentation by forming CRESCENT shapes instead of flattened dough or strips. How long would I bake and at what temp so as not to be mushy.
Thanks, Maggie

Dawn, the chicken should be cooked and diced before you add it to the simmering mixture! Don't add raw chicken to the mixture and bake it - the chicken won't cook!

I do the same as stated above but instead of crescent dough on top I slice my boiled chicken breast and wrap them in the crescent rolls individually and place on bottom and then pour cream chicken and mixed vegetable mixture on top and bake... the crescent rolls rise up the through the soup vegetables mixture and its delusions :)
