PORTUGUESE SANDWICH | |
4 Portuguese Sandwich rolls 2 tablespoons honey mustard 4 tablespoons mayonnaise 1/4 pound baked ham, thinly sliced 1/4 pound roast pork, thinly sliced 1/4 pound provolone cheese, thinly sliced 12 sweet pickle slices 1 tablespoon butter (melted to room temperature) Slice the bread in half, and spread each side with honey mustard and mayonnaise. Next, divide the ham, pork, cheese, and pickles evenly on each roll. Heat your panini maker or sandwich press, and butter each side of the bread. Press down and grill the sandwiches until the cheese is melted and the bread is browned, which takes about 10 minutes. If you don't have a panini maker, you can heat the sandwiches in the oven at 350 degrees on a cookie sheet for about 15 minutes. Use a spatula to press down on the sandwiches and flatten them, which will produce the same effect as a panini maker. Submitted by: Marni Swain |
