NISHA'S PORTUGUESE SOUP
1 mild Portuguese style smoked sausage, cut (I use Hawaiian Brand)
1/2 to 1 lb. slabbed/thick sliced ham, cut up
2 cups elbow macaroni
1 (15 oz.) can chicken broth
1 (15 oz.) can tomato sauce
2 potatoes, peeled and cut into 1-inch cubes
1/2 cup soy sauce (I use Aloha Shoyu Hawaii sauce)
1 (6 oz.) can sliced olives, drained (optional)
1 (15 oz.) can kidney beans (optional)
garlic powder, to taste
salt and pepper, to taste
water

You will need a large pot. Start with a 1/4 pot full of water. Bring to a boil. Start boiling sausage cuts and ham cuts.

Add macaroni, chicken broth, tomato sauce, garlic powder, salt & pepper at the same time. Boil on medium-high for 10 minutes or till macaroni is half soft.

Add cut up potatoes and soy sauce. Stir every few minutes. Boil till potatoes and macaroni is soft. Stir in olives and/or kidney beans (if you desire) and simmer.

Soup usually takes 1 1/2 hours to make but is soooo yummy!

Tip: Best to cook some rice along with this soup! 1 cup for every 2 people.

This soup recipe serves 6 people! ENJOY! =)
