RED DEVIL'S FOOD CAKE 
2 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 c. shortening
1 c. sour milk
2 1/2 c. flour
1/2 c. cocoa
2 tsp. baking soda in milk
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. boiling water

Mix sugar, shortening, and egg together. Sift flour and cocoa together. Add to sugar mixture, alternating with sour milk; add vanilla. Add boiling water last and beat. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes in 9 x 13 pan. This will seem thin, but makes a good cake.
