Chocolate Oatmeal No-Bake Cookies

I grew up with Chocolate peanut butter no bakes. The recipe we have does not use any butter. It is very simple and as long as you boil the mixture for just one minute they turn out awesome every time. No butter means it's at least a little healthier right? :) We use sugar, oats, and vanilla in one bowl and cocoa and milk on the stove. They are awesome!

I ate theses as a young girl growing up, my babysitter made these. I made them for my kids when they grew up. It is the only cookie that my son eats. He is 29 and I am still making them for him this time of year

I find that putting a scoopful in a paper muffin cup makes cleanup much easier. Cooling the cookies on a baking sheet in the freezer helps them set faster as well.

It's a winner. Used this for our first Christmas baking party with my grandaughters ages 4,2,1. Had a blast

Have made these for at least 45 years, but I do add a dash of salt, and I double the recipe. Works great.

Great for a dad to make for kids - really tasty. Next time I will use about 2 3/4 cups oatmeal so its not so crumbly.

Way too much cocoa -- maybe half that much.

These are great and so easy- no matter what complicated sweets I create, my boyfriend keeps asking for these. Sure wish he would learn to make them himself one of these days :) I never use 2 cups sugar- 1 1/2 at most. Reduced-fat PB works fine in this recipe, but I like these best with crunchy PB.

I also just discovered if you "accidently" poor the peanut butter in with the boiling ingredients and boil for 3 minutes they turn out just fine to. Whew!

So easy to make and so hard to stop eating them. Wonderful for a modern mother's life - great time saver. Great snack. And of course oatmeal is a very healthy food. A bit of sugar and coco have long been mom's best friend for children who otherwise might not want to eat hot cereals.

This was the first recipe I ever used in Home Economics in high school in 1961. Only difference was that we did not add peanut butter and when cool, rolled into balls and covered in powdered sugar.

I added 1/2 cup each of chocolate chips and salted peanuts.
Pure joy for the chocolate and salt cravings.

I love reading all the different options on the ways you can make these so I thought I would add my own. When I went to pull the ingredients to make this recipe I realized all I had was dark chocolate cocoa. My daughter wasn't too thrilled with the idea, but everyone LOVED them. I personally LOVE dark chocolate and will make them this way every time from now on. I did cut back on the amount of cocoa a bit & add a bit more oatmeal. I do think next time I will cut back a bit on the butter, they are just a bit greasy in texture for my preference.
