BARBECUE RIBS (Crock Pot) 
3 lbs. spareribs
Salt and pepper
1 sliced onion
1 (16 oz.) bottle barbecue sauce

Sprinkle ribs with salt and pepper. Place ribs in broiler pan under broiler for 30 minutes to brown and remove excess fat.

Put sliced onion in crock pot. Slice ribs into serving pieces and put in crock pot. Pour in barbecue sauce. Cover and cook on low 8-10 hours or on high 4-5 hours.

Too much water after cooking. Add 1/2 the sauce before cooking and drain after cooking, reserving the other 1/2 for after draining. I used sweet baby ray's. The best I have found.

I have always had success with this recipe. I use the broiler or the grill if it's available. I also cut down on the sauce, just pouring enough to cover each piece meat. I cut the rack of ribs into three sections, covering each with sauce and then layering the next, trying to keep them from completely covering each other. Usually half a bottle of sauce (we like Stubbs) is enough.
