DIVINITY CANDY 
3 c. sugar
1/2 c. cold water
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. Karo syrup
2 egg whites
1 c. pecans, chopped

Boil sugar, water and syrup until it spins a thread. Pour 1/2 mixture over stiffly beaten egg whites. Cook other 1/2 of mixture until it forms a hard ball when tried in cold water. Pour over egg white mixture and beat until it holds a peak. Add vanilla and nuts and drop by spoonfuls on waxed paper.
