DIVINITY CANDY 
1 c. light corn syrup
3 c. granulated sugar
1/2 c. water
1/4 tsp. salt
2 egg whites
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. chopped nuts or 2/3 cup chopped candies cherries

Combine syrup, sugar, water and salt in a 3 quart pan. Cook to hard ball stage (260 degrees). Beat egg whites in large mixing bowl until stiff. Gradually beat in boiling syrup. Add vanilla and continue beating until mixture will hold it's shape when dropped from spoon. Add nuts or cherries. Drop from teaspoon onto waxed paper.
