OLD FASHIONED BREAD PUDDING | |
Kids love this! Our mom made it for us growing up in the 30's and 40's and it was a huge hit. It tastes wonderful! 2-3 cups of bread and/or biscuits (more or less) 2 eggs 3/4 cup sugar 1 tsp. cinnamon 1 tsp. vanilla milk (enough to make a thick batter) Note: Use the bread and biscuits saved from a week's worth of cooking. Break all the crumbs up in a large bowl. Add eggs and sugar, cinnamon and vanilla. Begin to mix in milk until you have a very thick cake-like batter. Spoon mixture into a well buttered 8x8-inch square pan. Bake at 350°F for about 30 minutes. Cool, then cut into squares. Submitted by: Lucy Graybill |
