SAUSAGE 'N' KRAUT SKILLET 
2 tbsp. shortening
1/4 c. diced onion
1/4 c. diced green pepper
4 c. Silver Floss Sauerkraut or Krispy Kraut (32 oz. glass jar or poly bag)
1 c. diced apples
2 lb. Hillshire Farm Smoked Sausage or 18 sausage links

Melt shortening in electric skillet or large heavy saucepan. Add onion and green pepper and saute for 5 minutes. Add sauerkraut and diced apples. Cover and cook over low heat for 25-30 minutes, stirring occasionally, until apples are tender. Meanwhile, saute sausage until brown (or cook links as directed on package). Top hot sauerkraut mixture with sausage and serve. Makes 6 servings.
