“EASY APPLE CRISP” IS IN:

EASY APPLE CRISP
1 cup sugar
2 tsp. lemon juice
1/4 cup water
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
6 large apples, peeled and sliced
3/4 cup flour
1/4 tsp. salt
6 tbsp. butter

Combine 1/2 cup sugar, lemon juice, water and cinnamon in bottom of small baking pan. Slice in apples. Blend remaining 1/2 cup sugar, flour, salt and butter until crumbly. Spread over apples and pat smooth.

Bake at 375°F. for 40-50 minutes, until apples are tender and crust is browned.

Serve hot with ice cream. This is a good recipe for apple crisp if you don't like the over-sugary oatmeal taste. It's basically a rectangular apple pie.

This recipe is the best. I love the way it makes the house smell. It's easy and it's delicious. I sometimes add a little oatmeal to the topping for a little more crunch. This is my favorite recipe on this website. I even bought an apple peeler just for this recipe.

Oh, yum. Off to the store now to pick up some vanilla ice cream for the crisp that's bubbling nicely in the oven. Yummers!

Used Splenda Sugar Blend to cut down on calories and less water as I used freshly picked apples that were very juicy. Still turned out yummy!

Loved this super easy recipe and it really does offer a great alternative to the other, sweeter apple crisp recipes.

I split the sugar called for between white and brown sugar - made it a bit caramel-like on the bottom and a nice topping too. And I added nutmeg to the bottom with the cinnamon and cloves to the apples before the crisp topping! Delicious!

I used this recipe, but added oats & brown sugar and it was awesome! My children says they "love the aftertaste". I think they are talking about the lemon juice in the apples. It gives this crisp a great aftertaste.
