SAUCE FOR PUDDING 
1 c. brown sugar
1/2 cube butter
1 tsp. vanilla
2 1/2 c. water
2 tbsp. cornstarch

Stir and cook until thickened.

For Vanilla Sauce: use white sugar instead of brown sugar.

For Rum Sauce: Add 1 teaspoon rum flavoring and either white or brown sugar.
