APPLE PUDDING CAKE 
2 c. sugar
1/4 lb. butter
2 eggs
4 c. chopped apples
1 c. nuts
2 c. flour
2 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. cinnamon
2 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. salt

Cream sugar and butter, add eggs. Sift dry ingredients and add to the above mixture. Add apples and nuts and mix well. Put in well greased cake pan and bake for 15 minutes at 350 degrees, then at 325 degrees for 25 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean.

RUM SAUCE:

1/2 c. white sugar
1/2 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. heavy cream (half & half)
3 tbsp. rum or 1 1/2 tbsp. rum extract

Cook slowly until slightly thick. Add rum.
