FRENCH - SWISS COOKIES 
1 c. butter
1 c. sugar
1 egg yolk
2 c. flour
2 1/2 tsp. cinnamon

TOPPING:

1 egg white, beaten
Walnuts & coconut, finely chopped

Cream together butter and sugar. Add, one at a time, yolk, flour, and cinnamon. Roll in 3/4 inch balls. Place on ungreased cookie sheet. Press flat with a glass dipped in sugar. Dampen cookie top with bit of beaten egg white. Sprinkle with nuts and coconut mixture. Bake at 325 degrees until coconut turns slightly brown. Favorite holiday cookie as it freezes well.
