SCANDANAVIAN MEATBALLS 
2 lb. ground beef
1 lb. ground pork (unseasoned)
3 eggs
1 1/2 c. milk plus 1 c. warm milk
1 1/2 c. bread crumbs
1 onion, minced
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1 1/2 tsp. pepper
1/2 tsp. allspice
1 c. milk
1/4 c. butter
1/4 c. salad oil
Flour
Consomme (broth)

Combine meat, eggs, bread crumbs, 1 1/2 cup milk, onion, salt, pepper, allspice; beat together well. Add the warm milk gradually and beat until smooth. Chill thoroughly, then form into small balls and brown in a mixture of half butter and half salad oil. Drain on paper towels, dust lightly with flour. Reheat (or keep warm) in broth or consomme. These can be browned under the broiler to eliminate some of the fat, if desired.
