SWEET AND SOUR SAUCE FOR FISH 
1/4 c. sugar (white or dark brown, packed)
1 tbsp. cornstarch
1/8 tsp. black pepper
1/2 c. chicken broth or water
1/4 c. cider vinegar
1/4 c. shredded carrot
1/4 c. thinly sliced green pepper (bell pepper)
2 tbsp. catsup
1 tbsp. soy sauce

Combine sugar, cornstarch, and black pepper in a small saucepan. Gradually stir in chicken broth or water. Add remaining ingredients and bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring frequently. Allow the mixture to thicken slightly. Serve with Crab Balls or other seafood dishes.
