GRANDMA'S POUND CAKE | |
1 lb. butter 8 eggs 3 1/2 c. Swans Down flour 3 c. sugar 1 tsp. vanilla 2 tsp. lemon 1 tsp. salt 1/2 tsp. baking powder 2/3 c. evaporated milk Preheat the oven at 275 degrees. Then cream the sugar and butter. Add 1 egg at a time. Salt and baking powder. Add flour alternating the milk. Add lemon and vanilla last. Bake in a tube pan for 1 hour and a half to 1 hour and 45 minutes. When the cake is done put the cake in aluminum foil as soon as it comes out of the oven. Do not let it cool. |
