24 - HOUR CABBAGE SLAW 
1 lg. head cabbage, shredded
2 onions, sliced
14 to 16 tbsp. sugar
3/4 c. oil
1 c. vinegar
2 tsp. sugar
1 tsp. dry mustard
1 tsp. celery seed
1 tbsp. salt

Alternate 2 thick layers of cabbage and onions in bowl. Sprinkle 14 to 16 tablespoons sugar on top. Combine oil, vinegar, and spices in a boiler. Bring to a full rolling boil. Pour over cabbage. Chill, tightly covered, for 4 hours. Mix well and spoon into covered jars. Store in refrigerator up to 2 months.
