I did a trial run of this recipe in prep for a large brunch gathering. Used whole wheat bread and added aout 1 tsp cinnamon to the egg mix and a bit more vanilla. Next time will used sliced french bread and let soak a bit longer, seemed the egg mix absorbed quite quickly, 2 eggs and half the liquid soaked only 4 pieces of bread. Also, needed to bake a few minutes longer. Tasted like it was cooked on the stovetop, very simple. Baked this on a Pampered Chef stone, so the browning was very even. Served with butter and maple syrup.

The amounts listed above soaked 6 pieces of the bread (1/2 inch bread). I had to cook it for about 20 min not 10. Looks, smells, and tastes amazing!

I used 2% milk & an extra egg. Tasted great! I think I will use a thicker bread next time & butter the pan better. A couple of slices stuck.
