We use a 1 lb pkg of hot sausage browned while the hash browns are in the oven. I use 2 (7 oz. ea.) cans of green chilies, 8 eggs and 1 cup of milk or half & half. It makes a little bigger casserole. This is a BIG favorite of anyone who eats it!

We use 1 pound hot sausage rather than the ham but I'm sure the ham would be just fine. I add 2 extra egg and 1/4 cup milk or half-and-half and 2 cans of green chilies because we love them so much.

The recipe is good as written. Such a wonderful brunch meal. Everyone who has eaten it just raves about it...
