BATTER FRIED MUSHROOMS 
2 c. mushrooms
1/2 c. milk
1 egg
1/2 tsp. pepper
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. flour

Slice mushrooms or use them whole. Mix milk, egg, salt, and pepper in bowl. Dip mushrooms into batter, then flour and fry until golden brown.

Not too bad. I forgot to add the milk so next time I'll have to do that, haha! The only thing is that next time I make them I will definitely slice the mushrooms, whole mushrooms is just too much and don't cook so well.

For whole mushrooms, I bake them for 30-40 minutes at 380°F prior to frying to remove moisture and concentrate flavor. Let them cool, of course, before frying for easier handling.

When doing so, I do salt the mushrooms before baking and take the salt down to 1/4 tsp in the batter recipe.
