OLD FASHIONED RAISIN CAKE 
1 box raisins
1 c. raisin juice
3 c. flour
3/4 c. butter
2 eggs
1 3/4 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1 1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1 1/4 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. cloves

Cook raisins and cool completely. Cream butter and sugar thoroughly; add eggs one at a time, beating after each until light and fluffy. Sift together flour, salt, soda and spices. Add alternately with raisin juice, beating smooth each time. Stir in raisins. Pour into greased and floured tube pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour.
